Women who are pregnant can experience musculo-skeletal pain at any time during the pregnancy. Typically, women have more pain towards the end of the pregnancy when the baby is larger, but many women also have pain at the beginning of the pregnancy when the pelvic ligaments and muscles are beginning to relax to allow room for the baby.

Although it is normal to have some episodic pain or soreness, treatment should be sought for pain that cannot be relieved, pain that shoots down into the arms or legs, or pain that limits normal daily activities.

Physical therapy can be helpful for the pregnant woman with many types of pain: vaginal pain; pain in the neck, back or pelvis; pain, numbness or tingling in the arms or legs; carpal tunnel syndrome; hip pain; headache. Treatment may include: fitting for braces or other supports, manual techniques to improve joint function and decrease pain, and instruction in home exercises to reduce pain or improve motion

At CoreBalance Therapy LLC, we are experienced in providing relief for our patients quickly and effectively. As mothers ourselves, we recognize that the pregnant woman has little time or energy!
